Director and Designer
Jacob’s professional journey is characterised by his exceptional qualities and achievements. His career has been punctuated by numerous awards, reflecting the high quality of his work and the innovation he brings to his designs.
Driven by his passion for architecture, and innovation within the field, Jacob founded JMH Design in 2012. Since its inception, Jacob has nurtured relationships with industry partners and has grown a network of trusted providers.
JMH Design has, under Jacob’s guidance, become a highly regarded building design company, enhanced by a team of highly skilled designers, experienced in residential design.
He values teamwork and has a strong affinity for the JMH Design brand and core values: Collaboration, Innovation, and Leadership. Being a family man himself, he understands how to design homes for growing or established families.
Jacob has over a decade of experience in both building and design, he possesses a valuable combination of qualifications and a unique perspective that sets him apart as a registered builder and building designer. This uniquely qualifies him to understand the technical aspects of construction.

Shane Rogerson
Senior Designer
Shane has also had extensive experience using home design software, making him an expert in creating realistic plans to help customers visualise their new homes.
Shane is the longest standing member of the JMH team and an integral part of our success to date. He is an award winning designer with designs that have been showcased in Home Beautiful magazine, Channel 9’s “Australia’s Best House” and an award winner for renovations over a million dollars.
He loves building homes that are perfectly suited to the Queensland climate and are ideal for families. His family background in building, means he has a strong understanding of the intricacies of all that goes into building.
Ashlea Carvel
Senior Designer
Ashlea Carvel is our most experienced Senior Building Designer with over sixteen years in the industry. She is qualified in Building Design and Technology.
Ashlea has been recognised in the industry for her modern, innovative, and creative designs for new homes and renovations. There is no design challenge that Ashlea has not solved. She enjoys working with clients to help create their dream homes in a beautiful and functional manner.
Ashlea is a core asset to the JMH structure. She is our design extraordinaire. A lot of her work behind the scenes goes unnoticed, despite it being essential to our success. She is a collaborative team player who assists with all areas of the JMH trusted journey. Ashlea is the JMH Design team rock, a real team asset. You can trust the process when working with her.
Ben Bailey
Building Design Consultant
Ben fell in love with building design in his youth. Playing with Lego sparked a passion that he would later pursue in his education.
After further developing his passion for design, Ben studied a Dual Diploma of Building Design and Interior Design. Fascinated by 3D modelling, architectural software, and design, his natural curiosity pushed him to combine these interests. In doing so, he found himself a part of the JMH Design team.
As a Building Design Consultant at JMH Design, Ben loves meeting and collaborating with clients on their designs. He delivers functional designs that meet the client’s needs to the highest degree possible.
Ben is the innovative inspiration behind the scenes at JMH. His fresh, youthful approach to design and technology is shaping an already highly regarded path for Ben within the building and design industry.
John Tsikouris
John is a Graduate architect and building designer with a passion for creating spaces that positively enrich people’s everyday lives. With a keen interest in sub-tropical modern architecture and passive design, John strives to integrate innovative solutions that enhance both functionality and sustainability in every project.
John completed both a Bachelor of Design and a Master of Architecture at Deakin University, laying the foundation for a diverse and adaptable approach to design.
Outside of architecture, John enjoys a variety of hobbies including soccer and the outdoors. Those who know him would describe him as easygoing, approachable, and dependable, always bringing a collaborative and positive energy to his work.
Hazel Elnas
Admin Support
Hazel is our super Admin Support, who’s been with JMH Design for 4 years and counting.
Hazel is our behind-the-scenes office ninja. Although you may not hear from Hazel too often on the phone, you will find yourself receiving regular, friendly communications from her. Hazel is our reporting, process driven technology extraordinaire.
Without Hazel, JMH Design would not be where it is today.

Front of House, Admin Extraordinaire & Vibe Coordinator (unofficial title… kind of)
When you walk into JMH Design or give us a call, chances are it’s Melanie you’ll meet first and you’ll be in great hands. She brings the kind of energy that makes the place feel like it runs on sunshine, spreadsheets, and a healthy dose of humour.
Whether she’s juggling phone calls, setting up appointments, prepping quotes, wrangling the inbox, or making sure files don’t vanish into the void, she handles it all with confidence, clarity, and the occasional well-timed pun.
She’s friendly, efficient, and seriously switched on, the kind of person who can make you laugh while fixing a quoting issue and chasing a designer all in one breath. Basically, Melanie’s the glue that keeps it all together (and yes, her spreadsheets have tabs).
